Enemies & Sector OverlordsThreat Index

The enemies of the Tyris System span three tiers: regular troops, elites and bosses, and the "Sector Overlords" who rule each sector. Officials describe these foes as ones that "flood the battlefield with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones and artillery, forming overlapping bullet patterns."

Regular Enemy Forces

Regular units (officially confirmed)
UnitThreat Profile
InfantryThe backbone that wins by weight of numbers; simple AI — mostly stand-and-shoot or straight-line charges
TanksArmored units that appear in large-scale battles and decisive battles
MechsHeavy units, the backbone of late-game battlefields (see Mechs & Late-Game Units)

Beyond human enemies, the system also hosts native alien threats — official screenshots show giant tentacled creatures coiling across colony skylines, and fanged alien beasts glowing with cyan light. Hands-on press coverage also recorded a hostile faction called the Ursulans.

Elite Enemies & Bosses

Elite units are the main source of bullet density. The description text of the "Drone EMP" core confirms it: elite and boss-tier enemies have shields — EMP-type tools can briefly disable those shields, opening a window for focused fire. Official patch notes also mention adding heavy-hit reactions to "enemy weak points," confirming that some tough enemies use a Weak Point mechanic.

Sector Overlords

A Sector Overlord rules the far end of every sector. Press confirms: defeating a Sector Overlord reclaims that sector for humanity — the ultimate goal of expedition progression. Overlord fights are the peak of the game's bullet-hell design: official screenshots capture a giant boss flooding the entire screen with hundreds of purple ring bullets at once.

Surviving the Bullet Hell

  • Read the gaps — the barrages are dense, but "overlapping patterns" mean there are rhythmic safe lanes
  • Kill the bullet sources first — elite enemies are why bullet density spikes; greet them with EMP and weak-point hits first
  • Stay mobile in three dimensions — the height advantage from the double jump and jetpack is the cheapest dodge (see Combat System)
  • Let your troops share the pressure — soldiers draw fire, and some cores are even designed around "sacrificial shield" tactics (see Core Fragments)
Editor's Note

The total number of Overlords and a complete enemy index have not been officially announced. This page only lists units verifiable from official material and gameplay footage; new Overlords from later sectors will be added as Early Access updates arrive.
