The Basics
What kind of game is Pax Autocratica?
A totalitarian colony sim × FPS roguelite hybrid developed and published by Multiverse: you build and rule a totalitarian colony (managing citizens' Fear, Happiness, Hunger and Loyalty) while personally leading troops, gun in hand, through roguelite bullet-hell warfare. See the Game Overview.
When does the game release?
The Early Access version launched on Steam on August 10, 2026. EA is expected to last about two years; the full release date has not been announced. See Release & Price.
Is the game free? How much does it cost?
It is not free. EA is priced at $29.99 (¥108 in China), with -17% for the first two weeks. Officials have said the price will increase at full release. A free Prologue was available from December 2025 but was delisted ahead of the EA launch.
Does it support Chinese?
Yes. Simplified and Traditional Chinese interface and subtitles are both available; full audio is in English. French and German are also supported.
Gameplay & Features
Can you play online / with friends?
Not currently. EA launched as a purely single-player game; co-op is an officially confirmed EA-period goal, but has no date. See Multiplayer.
Are there redemption / gift codes?
No. This is a paid, buy-to-play single-player game; officials have never released any codes, and there is no redemption entry in the game. Beware any "Pax Autocratica codes" pages. See the codes fact check.
Are there console versions (PS5 / Xbox / Switch)?
No console versions have been officially announced. The game currently supports Windows PC only (Steam / Epic); macOS and Linux are not supported. Steam Deck verification status has not been announced.
Does it support controllers?
Yes. Officials confirm full controller support (including DualShock / DualSense), plus adjustable difficulty and save-anywhere.
Are there achievements and mod support?
Neither has been officially announced. Community wikis list "achievements, mod support, console commands" as unconfirmed — any claim to have this information is not credible.
Content Questions
What PC specs do I need?
Minimum: i5-8600 / Ryzen 5 1600X + 16GB + GTX 1060 6G / RX 480 + 40GB storage; recommended: i7-8700K / Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2060 Super / RX 5700 XT. See System Requirements.
How much content is in Early Access?
Officials confirm the EA launch already includes multiple soldier types, weapons, buildings and cores, plus the complete "colony → combat" gameplay loop; the automation and mech systems locked in the Prologue are open in EA. Content will keep expanding over the two-year EA period.
Can I still play the free Prologue?
The Prologue was delisted in early August 2026; new players can no longer obtain it, while players who added it to their library before delisting are unaffected. The EA version includes all Prologue content at a larger scale. See the Prologue file.
Does the game have a flashing-lights warning?
Yes. Officials note the game contains flashing lights and may be unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy; it also contains mature content (violence and satire around authoritarian themes) that is not appropriate for all ages.
