Mechs & Late-Game UnitsMechanized Warfare
The official promise on combat scale: "from desperate skirmishes into large-scale mechanized war" — and mechs are the endpoint of that curve.
The Escalation Curve of War
The battlefields keep scaling up with your expedition progress:
- Skirmish phase — squad-sized infantry clashes where personal aim and footwork decide the outcome
- Combined-arms phase — mixed infantry and armor, with defensive installations and missile launchers on the field
- Mechanized war phase — mechs stride onto the battlefield in packs, and bullet density reaches "bullet hell" levels
Steam user tags include both "Mechs" and "Vehicular Combat", and an official screenshot shows a twin-barrel vehicle turret view fighting against a ring of flame bullets — vehicular combat is visually its own layer.
Mech Unlock Status
Cross-checked against the pre-existing wikis: mechs and "deeper automation" are both late-game content locked out of the free Prologue. The official Early Access description likewise lists the two side by side as advanced systems that open up after the Prologue. This means:
- Prologue players never touch mechs — they belong to the full version / Early Access content
- The official EA description promises the current version "already includes multiple soldier types," with more coming across the two-year EA period
Anatomy of a Late-Game Battlefield
From the official patch record of the Elysia Oasis Decisive Battle and press descriptions, the standard composition of a late-game large-scale battle can be reconstructed:
| Element | Notes |
|---|---|
| Infantry clusters | Ground-squad brawls between both sides |
| Armored vehicles | Tanks and other armored units providing heavy firepower |
| Defensive installations | Entrenched defensive structures (the placement of enemy turrets in the decisive battle was officially repositioned twice) |
| Missile launchers | Area-denial firepower |
| Fixed turrets | Fire points that must be prioritized and removed |
| Wave reinforcements | Enemies spawning in waves during the final phase of the decisive battle (spawn counts and intervals received dedicated official tuning) |
No official list of player-controllable mech models, unlock conditions, or stats has been published. This site only records the confirmed battlefield unit composition and will add more as versions update. The pre-existing wikis likewise mark this topic as "details limited."
